1. The rubber powder–polystyrene bead insulation mortar consists of rubber powder and polystyrene beads, which are packaged separately in bags. When used, the two components are mixed with water according to a specified ratio (rubber powder to water = 1:2). This material should be mixed as needed and applied within 4 hours.

II. The wall surface shall be thoroughly cleaned, free of oil stains, loose debris, and other contaminants. Loose or weathered sections of the existing wall must be completely removed, and any surface irregularities exceeding 10 mm in height shall be leveled.
3. Concrete walls and masonry walls shall be fully coated with interface mortar.
4. The thickness of each layer of the thermal insulation plaster shall not exceed 10 mm; subsequent layers shall be no more than 20 mm thick, with an interval of at least 24 hours between applications.
5. When applying tile cladding over a polystyrene bead insulation layer, use metal mesh instead of fiberglass mesh as the reinforcing framework for the crack-resistant protective layer, and securely anchor the metal mesh to the structural wall.
6. The crack-resistant insulation layer may be installed only after the insulation layer has cured and dried.
7. Apply the crack‑resistant mortar to a thickness of approximately 3–5 mm. After spreading it over a specified width, immediately press the mesh fabric into the mortar using a steel trowel. The overlap between adjacent mesh strips shall be no less than 50 mm; first press one side into the mortar, then apply additional crack‑resistant mortar before pressing the other side. Dry lapping is strictly prohibited. The mesh fabric must be laid evenly, without wrinkles, and the mortar coverage must be 100%.
8. Before drying, the insulation layer and the crack-resistant protective layer shall be protected from water impact, mechanical impact, and vibration.
9. The thickness of the protective layer and the construction details shall comply with the requirements for energy-efficient building design, and the insulation layer thickness shall be uniform, with no negative deviation allowed.
1. During on-site application, the rubber‑powder polystyrene‑granule insulation mortar requires no added admixtures; the water‑to‑solid ratio and plastering time must be strictly controlled.
2. During transportation, precautions should be taken to protect against moisture, rain, and direct sunlight.
3. Store in a well-ventilated, dry place, avoiding moisture and direct sunlight.
4. Upon delivery to the construction site, ensure protection from water and moisture; the storage period should not exceed 3 months, and in humid seasons, it should not exceed 15 days.
5. After completion of installation, the finished surface should be protected from impacts and water exposure; during winter construction, take precautions against freezing.
6. After each application, promptly clean all tools and mixing equipment to ensure they remain in good working condition for the next use.

Characteristics and Key Construction Points of Polymer-Bonded Mortar
Many customers do not fully understand the characteristics and key construction considerations of polymer‑bonded mortar. In this issue, a polymer‑bonded mortar manufacturer from Shandong will share with you the distinctive features of our products.
What are the main properties of graphite polystyrene boards?
Graphite‑polystyrene insulation boards, EPS polystyrene boards, and mechanically bonded rock wool mortar composite panels. The hydrophobic rock wool board serves as the thermal insulation layer, which is anchored to the base wall using a combined adhesive‑and‑mechanical fastening system. It comprises a finishing coat made of skim coat mortar and fiberglass mesh reinforcement, topped with either a decorative mortar finish or a paint coating, forming an A‑class non‑combustible building energy‑saving insulation system.
