Mesh fabric
Alkali-resistant glass fiber mesh fabric is a specialized crack‑resistant reinforcement material manufactured by weaving medium‑alkali or alkali‑free glass fiber yarns into a mesh structure, followed by coating with an alkali‑resistant polymer and a stabilizing finish. It is primarily used in building insulation systems, plastered wall surfaces, and crack‑repair areas, providing reinforcement, crack resistance, impermeability, and prevention of delamination. As such, it serves as an indispensable core reinforcing component in exterior wall insulation and wall‑plastering systems.
Performance Metrics
Area mass: ≥160 g/m² (common specification)
Alkali-resistant breaking strength (warp/weft): ≥1000 N/50 mm
Alkali-resistant breaking strength retention: ≥80%
Elongation at break: ≤5%
Coating amount: uniform and full, with no yarn exposure or delamination.
Mesh size: Standard 5×5 mm / 4×4 mm
Alkali resistance: Pass (complies with GB/T 20102)
Appearance: Uniform mesh, straight edges, no tears, no stains.
Scope of Application
The finish coat of the exterior wall insulation system is reinforced to enhance crack resistance.
Crack prevention and delamination resistance for interior and exterior wall plastering and paint finishes.
Prevention and treatment of cracks at the junctions between new and existing walls, cable trays, and openings.
Joint seams of insulation boards and internal/external corners shall be reinforced.
Crack-resistant reinforcement of joints in gypsum boards and lightweight partition panels.
Renovation of existing walls and tile surfaces, with enhanced substrate reinforcement.
Product Advantages
Exceptional crack resistance: effectively counters substrate deformation, preventing wall cracking and delamination.
Alkali and corrosion resistance: A specialized alkali-resistant coating that remains effective and does not chalk under prolonged exposure to alkaline mortars.
Dimensional stability: Does not deform or shrink under high‑temperature, low‑temperature, or humid conditions.
High strength and lightweight: boasts high tensile strength, is easy to install, and does not increase the wall’s load.
Excellent compatibility: perfectly compatible with cement, gypsum, thermal insulation mortar, and finishing mortar.
Easy construction: convenient cutting and simple installation, significantly enhancing the durability of wall systems.
Instructions for Use
Base preparation: Apply the finishing mortar evenly, ensuring a smooth, level surface free of protrusions.
Laying the mesh fabric: Center the mesh fabric and press it into the freshly applied skim coat mortar; do not lay it dry or leave any areas uncoated.
Lap requirements: Lateral and longitudinal lap widths shall be ≥100 mm, and edge wrapping at internal and external corners shall be ≥200 mm.
Flattening and Compaction: Use a trowel to firmly press and smooth the mesh fabric, ensuring that the mortar fully encases it with no exposed areas or wrinkles.
Construction sequence: apply to large surfaces first, then to openings, followed by internal and external corners; carry out continuous work in sections.
