Gypsum putty
Interior wall gypsum putty is a specialized leveling compound for interior walls, formulated with building gypsum as the primary binding agent, combined with carefully selected fillers, redispersible latex powder, functional additives, and other ingredients, all precisely proportioned and pre-mixed at the factory. The product is a white dry powder that can be readily mixed with water on site for immediate use. It is specifically designed for leveling, straightening, and fine sanding of interior wall and ceiling surfaces, and can be directly applied over substrates such as concrete, cement mortar, and lightweight plastering gypsum. As a core leveling material for interior wall finishing, it plays an essential role in achieving smooth, even surfaces.
Performance Metrics
Appearance: Uniform white powder, free of agglomerates.
Fineness: ≤150 μm, pass rate ≥99%
Initial setting time: ≥60 min
Final setting time: ≤480 min
Tensile bond strength: ≥0.3 MPa
Compressive strength: ≥2.5 MPa
Flexural strength: ≥1.0 MPa
Scope of Application
Interior concrete walls, plastered walls, and lightweight plaster-gypsum base substrates shall be leveled.
Fine leveling and polishing of interior ceilings, ceiling panels, and beam surfaces.
Straightening internal and external wall corners, repairing holes, and leveling cracks.
Surface leveling of substrates prior to the application of latex paint, wallpaper, diatomaceous earth plaster, and other finishes.
Renovation of existing wall surfaces, localized patching, and correction of surface flatness.
Product Advantages
Excellent leveling performance: easy to apply and sand, allowing for effortless correction of wall flatness and providing a perfect substrate for subsequent finish work.
Strong adhesion with no cracking: Formulated with a gypsum base, it exhibits excellent bond strength to various interior wall substrates and is resistant to hollowing, spalling, and cracking.
High construction efficiency: excellent workability, smooth troweling, no sagging, minimal dust on the floor, significantly boosting productivity.
Eco-friendly and green: free of formaldehyde and benzene-series compounds, non-toxic and odorless; no harmful substances are released during installation or use, making it suitable for long-term indoor living environments.
Mold and Moisture Resistance: Gypsum-based materials inherently possess hygroscopic properties, enabling them to regulate indoor humidity and reduce the risk of mold growth and dampness on wall surfaces.
High compatibility: Perfectly compatible with a wide range of interior wall finishes, including latex paint, wallpaper, diatomaceous earth plaster, and decorative coatings, ensuring system stability and durability.
How to Use
1. Substrate Preparation: The substrate shall be solid, dry, and smooth, with no loose dust, oil stains, or release agents; the substrate moisture content shall not exceed 10%.
2. Putty preparation: Add water according to the recommended powder-to-water ratio (typically about 1:0.4), mix thoroughly with an electric mixer, let stand for 3–5 minutes, then stir again before use.
3. Skimming Application: First coat: Apply a thin base coat with a spreading thickness of approximately 1–2 mm to ensure strong adhesion to the substrate. Second coat: After the first coat has completely dried, apply the second coat with a spreading thickness of approximately 1–2 mm, ensuring that the total coating thickness does not exceed 3 mm.
4. Sanding: Once the putty has fully dried, sand the surface with sandpaper or a sanding machine to ensure it is smooth and even, then wipe away any loose dust.
5. Construction Environment: The construction temperature should be between 5°C and 35°C. Avoid working in environments with excessive ventilation, direct sunlight, or high humidity.
